I started this to share and discuss with others the things I deal with day to day.

The first thing that came to mind is man, I sure do love to play games when I get home. But sometimes I don’t have the strength to do it. By that I don’t mean I am physically tired as I work a regular old 9-5 at a desk. Mentally my brain is fried and looking for something to juice it back up and the easiest source is doom scrolling through my phone.

How I manage this

Now I have learned when I get home a few things that work best for me.

  • First thing I have to do everyday I get home no matter what is to change out of my work clothes, this is a must as it allows my brain to say, “Hey, you are no longer in work mode. Relax and do something you enjoy”

  • Next thing is if I am going to be playing video games I need to get to my computer or console or whatever device I am playing on that afternoon. Otherwise you’ll end on the couch or bed even scrolling through social media to recharge and end up stuck there all night.

  • Lastly, I know this helps me but maybe not for all, I reach out to my friends to see what they are up to. This helps motivate me even further to make sure I don’t end up in the funk of doom scrolling.
