Everyone at least once in their life will encounter someone working in customer service. It is a given. Some however will encounter someone who acts as if it is their first time on earth while out in public and make your day miserable.

See, I believe everyone should at least experience what it is like to be behind that counter, to be on the other side of the table at least once in their life. I believe this would allow individuals to understand when they are spoken to or handle rudely by someone at this customer service jobs that they are possibly just having the worst day of their life, but they are stuck working this 8 hour shift having to deal with people who popped off the pillow looking to ruin someone’s day.

Why would working customer service help this?

I believe that if someone were to work at least one month near a holiday in any customer service role, they would know what someone can go through day to day. In that, it would allow them next time they want to act a fool, know what it looks like from the other side of that counter or behind that server book. People would understand that even if they are having the worst day of their life they have to show up to work with a smile on their face and assist you the best way possible to make sure they get paid at the end of the day.
